TallyPaper ("TallyPaper," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of the individuals and organizations that use our platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected and processed through TallyPaper, how that information is used, how it is protected, and who owns and controls the data submitted through the platform.

By using TallyPaper, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. You Own Your Data

TallyPaper does not claim ownership of election data, result records, images, documents, registrations, polling-place information, complaints, assignments, or other information entered, uploaded, submitted, or generated by a client organization or its authorized users through the platform.

• Client organizations retain ownership and control of the data they submit to TallyPaper.
• TallyPaper processes client data only as necessary to provide the platform and its related services.
• TallyPaper does not sell client data, monetize client data, use client data for advertising, or create advertising or behavioral profiles from client data.

2. Client Control and Data Rights

Client organizations and their authorized users may manage their data through the features and administrative tools made available by TallyPaper.

Depending on their permissions and the applicable election workflow, authorized users may create, review, update, publish, correct, or delete information within the platform.

Certain records of administrative or election-related activity may be retained as audit records to support transparency, accountability, security, fraud prevention, and the integrity of election processes.

An audit record does not give TallyPaper ownership of the underlying client data.

3. Information We Collect and Process

TallyPaper collects and processes only information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and provide the platform.

Depending on how the platform is used, this may include:

• Account information, such as email address, user identifier, display information, assigned role, organization, country, or election-access information.
• Election information, such as candidate information, election registrations, ballot or result entries, vote totals, election types, regions, districts, voting precincts, and polling-place information.
• Election result evidence, including images or other supporting materials submitted as part of result reporting or verification.
• Role and access assignments, including Poll Agent, Poll Watcher, Poll Observer, Candidate, Official, or Administrator access where applicable.
• Complaints, issue reports, polling-place status information, and related election administration records.
• Audit and security information associated with administrative actions, data changes, authentication, or platform activity.
• Technical information necessary to operate and secure the service, which may include device information, IP address, authentication activity, browser information, application diagnostics, and similar technical data.

TallyPaper does not collect personal information for advertising or data-broker purposes.

4. How We Use Information

TallyPaper uses and processes information only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and support the platform.

This may include:

• Authenticating users and maintaining account access.
• Applying role-based permissions and election-access rules.
• Synchronizing authorized election information across devices and systems.
• Recording and displaying election results.
• Storing and retrieving election result evidence.
• Supporting election review, verification, approval, and publication workflows.
• Displaying election information authorized for public release.
• Displaying published announcements.
• Maintaining security, audit history, and operational integrity.
• Investigating technical problems or unauthorized activity.
• Providing support requested by authorized users or client organizations.
• Complying with applicable legal obligations.

TallyPaper does not use client election data for advertising, behavioral profiling, sale, or unrelated commercial purposes.

5. Public Election Information

Certain information submitted through TallyPaper may be intentionally published by an authorized client organization for public viewing.

This may include, depending on the election:

• Published or certified election results.
• Candidate information.
• Election statistics.
• Polling-place or election-status information.
• Public announcements.

Information is treated as public only when it has been designated for public display through the applicable election workflow or by an authorized client organization.

Private operational information, account information, unpublished election records, and restricted administrative data are not intended for public access.

6. Data Storage and Processing

TallyPaper uses third-party infrastructure and service providers to operate the platform, including services that may provide database hosting, authentication, file storage, networking, and related infrastructure.

Client data may therefore be technically stored or processed on systems operated by these service providers on TallyPaper's behalf.

TallyPaper remains committed to limiting processing to what is necessary to provide the service.

TallyPaper personnel do not routinely access client election data and do not use such data for advertising, profiling, sale, or unrelated commercial purposes.

Administrative access to underlying infrastructure may exist where necessary for security, maintenance, troubleshooting, support, legal compliance, or protection of the service.

7. Data Security

TallyPaper uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These safeguards may include:

• Encryption of data in transit using TLS or comparable secure protocols.
• Security protections provided by the platform's cloud infrastructure.
• Role-based access controls.
• Authentication controls.
• Database and application access restrictions.
• Audit and security logging for applicable administrative and data-change activities.

No electronic system, network, or storage environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure. TallyPaper therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

If we become aware of a confirmed security incident affecting protected client data, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, contain, and address the incident and provide notice when required by applicable law or contractual obligations.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Client data is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the TallyPaper service, support the applicable client account or election, maintain required audit records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with legal obligations.

Authorized clients may delete or modify eligible data using the platform's administrative tools.

Certain audit, security, transaction, or legal records may be retained where reasonably necessary for election integrity, security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or accountability.

When an account or client relationship ends, information that is no longer required for legitimate operational, contractual, security, audit, or legal purposes may be deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable requirements.

9. Third-Party Service Providers

TallyPaper relies on a limited number of third-party service providers to operate the platform.

These providers may perform functions such as:

• Cloud database hosting.
• Authentication.
• File and image storage.
• Network infrastructure.
• Application hosting.
• Email delivery or account communications.
• Security and operational support.

These providers process information only as necessary to provide their services to TallyPaper and are not authorized by TallyPaper to use client election data for their own advertising purposes.

TallyPaper does not sell personal information to third parties.

10. Account Information and Communications

TallyPaper may use account contact information, such as an email address, to:

• Authenticate accounts.
• Confirm registration.
• Reset passwords.
• Send security-related communications.
• Provide account or service notifications.

We do not use account contact information to create advertising profiles or sell it to advertisers.

11. Children's Privacy

TallyPaper is an election administration, reporting, monitoring, and public-information platform. It is not specifically directed to children and is not designed as a children's application.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling purposes.

If you believe personal information relating to a child has been submitted improperly, please contact us so the matter can be reviewed.

12. International Processing

TallyPaper may be used by organizations and users in different countries.

Depending on the location of the client, user, and infrastructure provider, information may be processed or stored in a country different from the country in which it was originally submitted.

Where applicable, TallyPaper will use reasonable safeguards in connection with such processing.

13. No Sale or Advertising Use of Client Data

TallyPaper's privacy position is straightforward:

The client owns the data. TallyPaper processes it only to provide the service. TallyPaper does not sell it, monetize it, use it for advertising, or create advertising profiles from client data.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the platform, applicable law, security practices, or business operations.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of TallyPaper after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
