1. You Own Your Data

TallyPaper does not claim ownership of any data entered, uploaded, or generated by our clients or their authorized users. All election data, result records, images, and associated information submitted through the platform belong entirely to the client organization that collected it.

Clients may update and delete their data at any time. To maintain transparency and accountability in the electoral process, the system retains an audit trail of all changes. This audit trail is a record of activity — not a claim of ownership — and exists solely to support the integrity of election results.

We act solely as a data processor on your behalf. We do not sell, license, or otherwise transfer your data to third parties for any commercial purpose.

2. Your Rights Over Your Data

Clients and their authorized users have full rights over the data they submit to TallyPaper.

3. Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the platform:

• Account information (name, email address, organization) provided during registration.
• Usage logs and technical data (IP address, device type, browser) for security and performance monitoring.

4. How We Use Your Data

TallyPaper does not collect, store, or use your data for any purpose of our own. We are purely a transmission and synchronization tool — our sole function is to securely relay and sync client data across authorized devices.

We do not analyze, profile, sell, or retain your data beyond what is technically necessary to perform that transmission. All data remains under the full control of the client organization at all times.

5. Data Security

All data transmitted through TallyPaper is encrypted in transit using TLS. Data at rest is stored with industry-standard encryption. Access to client data is restricted to authorized personnel only, and all access is logged and audited.

While we take every reasonable precaution to protect your data, no system is completely immune to risk. We will notify affected clients promptly in the event of a confirmed data breach.

6. Data Retention

We retain client data for as long as the client account is active or as needed to provide services. Clients may request deletion of their data at any time. Upon account termination, data is deleted within 30 days unless a longer retention period is required by law.

7. Third-Party Services

TallyPaper uses a limited number of third-party services (such as cloud infrastructure and authentication providers) solely to operate the platform. These providers are contractually bound to process data only on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
